Job summary

Regional One Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care to patients within assigned areas, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. You will initiate assessments, coordinate care, document findings, and educate patients and families.

The role also involves responding to emergencies, supervising staff, and maintaining accurate records in a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care according to medical regimen and the nursing interventions appropriate for the patients' conditions and according to established standards, policies and procedures including care of the ambulatory practice patient
• Initiates assessment based on the patient's presenting problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis and the functional health framework upon visit
• Collects key information from patient, family, laboratory, and other medical reports; ensures consents are signed and identifications procedures carried out
• Determines nursing diagnosis and priorities for care with focus on patient teaching, discharge planning, and developmental needs
• Documents assessment, nursing diagnoses or other clinical judgments
• Performs ongoing assessments and updates nursing diagnoses as patient condition evolves
• Coordinates care for assigned patients; performs therapeutic nursing interventions ordered by the physician and aligns with standards
• Documents care and clinical priorities; notes interventions and patient responses
• Responds to medical emergencies; initiates CPR/BLS as required
• Provides patient/family teaching; develops teaching outlines and evaluates progress
• Maintains patient records and utilizes computer systems to enter/retrieve data
• Collaborates with patient/family/hospital staff to ensure patient-centered, compliant care and supports supervision of staff and students
• Transports patients, specimens, equipment and supplies; ensures a safe environment in collaboration with security and forensic teams
• Maintains compliance with policies, participates in performance improvement initiatives and departmental competencies
• Keeps unit clean, safe and organized and completes required records for administration and compliance purposes
