Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is hiring a Patient Care Associate (PCA) for the Burn ICU. This role supports the Burn ICU team under RN/LPN guidance, performing direct patient care and non-clinical duties to promote recovery.

Responsibilities include hygiene, wound care, sterile dressing changes, and monitoring vitals, with rotation across night and day shifts. Training is provided, and the role offers solid benefits from day one to support ongoing education and development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Currently enrolled in a healthcare career program.
• No prior healthcare experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily hygiene and personal care for patients.
• Support wound care, dressing changes, and hydrotherapy as directed.
• Maintain sterile technique during procedures and assist with mobility.
• Observe patient conditions and report changes to the care team.
• Assist with feeding and monitor intake/output.
• Document vital signs and ensure patient comfort and safety.
