Job summary

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore seeks a qualified Advanced Practice Provider to join the Burn Center team. You will perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide inpatient management for acute burns and complex wounds.

This full-time role offers rotating shifts within a 20-bed unit (10 Burn ICU beds, 10 burn wound beds) and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate from an accredited NP/PA program.
• Current Maryland NP or PA license.
• Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP or PA certification.
• Inpatient clinical experience preferred.
• ABLS Certification required; willing to obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement treatment plans; monitor clinical progress.
• Provide inpatient management of patients with acute burns, complex wounds, and related conditions.
• Participate in daily rounds and coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary team.
• Perform procedures and assist with bedside and operative interventions within privileges.
• Manage wound care, including assessment, dressing changes, debridement, and evaluation of healing.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies and adjust plans with supervising physician/team.
• Provide patient and family education related to treatment plans, wound care, and discharge needs.
• Coordinate transitions of care and outpatient follow-up.
• Participate in quality improvement, education, and clinical initiatives within the Burn Center.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation per Johns Hopkins standards.
