NTC Language Services is seeking reliable and professional in-person Educational Interpreters for Burmese in Syracuse, New York. This part-time, as-needed position starts at $35.00 per hour and does not guarantee a set number of assignments.

Interpreters will facilitate clear, accurate communication among students, families, educators, administrators, and school professionals, interpreting between English and Burmese while maintaining neutrality and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and speak proficiently in both English and Burmese.
• Ability to interpret accurately and maintain confidentiality in educational settings.
• Comfort with learning educational terminology and terminology related to special education.

Responsibilities

• Interpret for parent-teacher conferences and education-related meetings.
• Facilitate communication among students, families, educators, and school staff.
• Interpret spoken content between English and Burmese and relay written information when required.
• Maintain neutrality and confidentiality across assignments.
