Burke Corporation in Nevada, Iowa, is seeking a Facility Technician for the 2nd shift (6:00PM–6:00AM, 3/2/2 schedule) to improve reliability, efficiency and maintenance of the Building/Grounds and support equipment.

2nd Shift: 6:00PM - 6:00AM - 3/2/2 Schedule
Pay Rate: $22.00 to $30.75/hr + $1.00 of shift differential (based on facility maintenance and repair experience)
The primary role of the facility technician is to continuously improve the reliability, efficiency and maintenance of the Building/Grounds and support equipment.
Knows and follows HACCP program and principles, USDA guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices
All team members must abide by all of Burke's Plant Safety Rules!
Maintains tool room equipment regarding plates, knives and blades; performs routine preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and physical structures, and on the plumbing, mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems; Ensures safe and optimum functioning equipment; systems, and processes utilizing prior facility maintenance and repair experience.
Performs set up/tear down of process equipment daily.
Facility rounds to inspect and record various repairs needed.
Inspects facility safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and sprinkler systems to insure compliance is always maintained.
Will be required to work with and develop equipment and ideas deemed to be confidential information and/or trade secrets owned by the company. This person will be required to protect the company's rights in and ownership of those trade secrets and confidential information
Minimum of one (1) year of hands‑on experience in facility maintenance and repair required

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
Must be 18 years of age or older (all plant positions)
Familiarity with forklift, skid loaders, and similar equipment a plus
Requires basic math, reading, and writing skills, manual dexterity, and ability to maintain a rapid pace for extended periods
Self-motivation and team attitude essential
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and have the physical ability to do the following tasks for extended periods of time: standing, walking, sitting, bending, climbing up steps and using ladders
Able to work in loud and hot and cold environments
Willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required
Must have a valid driver’s license
