Job summary

Hormel Foods in Papillion, NE is hiring for production positions on our team. Roles include Process Checkers, Forklift Drivers, Machine Operators, and Extra Gang coverage across departments. Starting pay is $21.15–$22.75 per hour, with varied shift schedules.

Qualifications

• One year of consistent production experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment, forklifts, or other specialized equipment safely and efficiently according to SOPs.
• Monitor production processes, equipment performance, and product quality to ensure safety and quality standards.
• Perform quality inspections, document results, and report issues to supervision.
• Safely move, stage, and transport materials and finished goods within the facility.
• Set up equipment, perform changeovers, and troubleshoot to support production.
• Maintain GMPs, HACCP, and sanitation practices; follow PPE and safety rules.
• Keep work area clean and organized; support continuous improvement and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Food Safety & Quality teams to meet goals.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate production equipment, forklifts, or other specialized equipment safely and efficiently while following established work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Monitor production processes, equipment performance, and product quality to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with quality standards.
• Perform quality inspections, verify product specifications, complete required documentation, and report quality concerns or production issues to supervision.
• Safely move, stage, and transport materials, ingredients, finished products, and packaging throughout the facility as assigned.
• Perform equipment setup, adjustments, product changeovers, and basic troubleshooting to support efficient production operations.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, quality, and sanitation programs, including GMPs, HACCP, and company policies.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), powered industrial equipment, and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area while supporting continuous improvement and production efficiency.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Food Safety & Quality teams to meet production goals and perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Ability to work in refrigerated production areas and around food products
• Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds

Requirements:
