Job summary

Uniti Group’s Kinetic unit is seeking a Buried Drop Technician to install buried copper, fiber and coaxial drops from the hub to customers’ homes. This safety-sensitive field role requires physical stamina, travel as needed, and a commitment to quality connections.

You will read and interpret job drawings, operate trenching and boring equipment, and promote Uniti products while delivering reliable service. Overnight travel and out-of-state work may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to walk 1/2 mile+ while operating a drop plow
• Ability to work the schedule including overtime, callouts, and standby as needed
• Basic technology and math skills
• Ability to distinguish colors present in color-coded cable
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds
• Ability to pass pre-employment DOT physical
• Obtain DOT certification and remain DOT certified

Responsibilities

• Install buried copper, fiber, and coaxial drops from hub to customer residence
• Sell and promote Uniti products and services
• Train new employees on daily job functions
• Interpret work drawings and complete necessary paperwork
• Operate trenching and boring equipment for burying cables
• Operate a hand-held computer to retrieve and clear job tasks
