Job summary

Uniti is seeking a Buried Drop Technician to perform the physical installation of buried copper, fiber, and coaxial cable from the network hub to customers’ residences. Overnight travel may be required based on business needs.

This safety-sensitive role supports our Buried Drop team and emphasizes accuracy and customer service. The position involves interpreting drawings, completing paperwork, promoting Kinetic products, and training new staff.

Qualifications

• Requires basic technology and math skills.
• Must be able to distinguish colors in color-coded cable systems.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record are required.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Install buried copper, fiber, and coaxial drop cable from network hub to customers’ residence.
• Use technical and customer focus to create meaningful connections with customers.
• Interpret work drawings and complete required paperwork.
• Promote Kinetic products and services.
• Train new employees on daily job functions.
• Operate a hand-held computer to retrieve and clear tasks.
• Perform underground facility locates when performing duties.
• Operate trenching and boring machinery to bury cable.
• Complete all other assigned tasks.
