Job Description
Under the supervision of lead cooks or the Sous Chef, assists with food preparation including chopping vegetables, making salads, soups, sauces, and assembling entrees. Provides work guidance to kitchen staff to ensure food quality, presentation, and service standards are met or exceeded.

- Deliver exceptional guest service in line with the Pinnacle Way. Maintain a friendly, approachable demeanor, and be courteous and helpful to guests and team members. Act proactively to assist others and respond sincerely to needs and questions.
- Familiarize yourself with all Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc.’s outlets and functions, and be able to answer general questions about the property.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly with a sense of urgency.
- Read food orders from computer printouts and prepare items according to menu specifications.
- Prepare food by washing, slicing, peeling, and cutting ingredients as needed.
- Test foods for doneness through tasting, smelling, or piercing.
- Supervise kitchen operations to ensure adherence to work procedures, quality standards, and menu specifications.
- Engage with guests at the buffet line, explaining products, asking questions, and building positive relationships.
- Coordinate and communicate with dining room staff about orders.
- Prepare food accurately and promptly.
- Complete all prep work as indicated on prep sheets.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of all areas and equipment.
- Follow health department regulations regarding food handling and storage.
- Attend scheduled training programs and complete all assigned duties, including opening and closing procedures.
- Pass all required tests and training to maintain job knowledge.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
- Handle difficult guests with resilience and work harmoniously with colleagues.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures for consistency and quality.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Proven ability to prepare a wide variety of foods in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of sanitation procedures and standards.
