Job summary

Mars Incorporated in Columbia, SC is hiring a Bulk Rail Receiving Operator to safely test, collect, unload and sample incoming bulk raw ingredients for our pet food manufacturing. The role supports manufacturing quality and requires strong teamwork and good math and communication.

You will operate heavy equipment such as a forklift and Track-mobile, participate in site safety, and assist with receiving functions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Able to work rotating shifts and communicate in English
• Basic PC skills (MS Office, email)
• OSHA forklift certification required
• Must be 18+ and able to lift 55 lbs

Responsibilities

• Test, collect, unload and sample incoming bulk materials
• Communicate and escalate quality and food safety concerns to site management
• Understand and execute major bin strategy
• Operate forklift and Track-mobile safely
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment in wet/dry receiving areas
• Assist with receiving functions as needed
• Participate in site safety programs and look for improvements
