Job summary

Odyssey Logistics is seeking a Manager, Bulk Procurement in Charlotte, NC. This hybrid role supports dry and liquid bulk procurement strategy, executes sourcing events, engages carriers, and delivers market insights to internal partners to drive cost efficiency and reliable service.

You will collaborate with procurement and operations teams, monitor KPIs, manage supplier relationships, and lead continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with procurement policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field; MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of logistics or supply chain experience.
• 3+ years transportation procurement experience (sourcing, contracting, category and supplier management).
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple RFP events and projects concurrently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Execute dry and liquid bulk procurement strategies developed in partnership with the Director.
• Lead mid size and support large scale bulk sourcing events across Odyssey's businesses.
• Develop network-based transportation solutions that deliver cost competitiveness and meet service requirements.
• Conduct detailed bid analysis, optimize routing guides, and recommend award scenarios.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with key Logistics Service Providers (LSPs).
• Support the Director in managing strategic carrier relationships and ensuring adherence to performance expectations.
• Monitor carrier KPIs (OTD, acceptance, cost, compliance) and recommend corrective actions when performance falls below targets.
• Track market trends and provide relevant insights to internal teams to support pricing, planning, and budget processes.
• Partner with business unit procurement and operations teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions aligned with cost and service goals.
• Support customer facing discussions by providing procurement and market perspectives as needed.
• Collaborate with Master Data teams to ensure accurate routing data setup and maintenance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement processes, enhance visibility, and improve carrier engagement.
• Contribute to strategies for managing the long tail carrier base to reduce risk and improve performance.
• Ensure compliance with organizational procurement policies, procedures, and corporate governance standards.
• Assist in negotiations for contracts and service agreements under the guidance of the Director.
• Serve as a point of escalation for carrier performance issues within the bulk procurement function.
• Prepare reporting, analysis, and summaries to support executive decision making.
• Perform all other duties and projects, as assigned.
