Prepare batches of gravy ingredients and/or super-micros for the kitchen according to approved formulas for production.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read and interpret batching sheets and production documents accurately to determine ingredient order and quantities, including pre-weighed super-micros.
• Stage ingredients, clean totes, and ensure proper labeling and recording of production data such as lot numbers, supplier info, batch dates, and plan numbers.
• Inspect ingredient bags for condition, foreign materials, lumps, color, odor, infestation, or expiration before dumping.
• Perform batching by weighing ingredients into totes, labeling, and staging them, staying 15 batches ahead of schedule.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area, including cleaning equipment and storage areas, and cover or seal ingredients to prevent contamination.

Participate actively as a team member, supporting company policies, attending meetings, and fostering team cohesion. Understand and support Simmons’ operating system principles, including quality and safety standards. Perform other duties as needed to support business objectives.

Physical activities include sitting, standing, walking, and moving bags and totes weighing 40-60 pounds. PPE required includes steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, hair net, and safety glasses. No travel involved. Machine operation experience is preferred; industry experience in manufacturing or warehousing with knowledge of GMP is desirable.
