Bulk Operator EM FLEX PLANT Mon - Fri: 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm (Finance)

Position Overview

Prepare batches of gravy ingredients and/or super-micros for the kitchen according to approved formulas for production.

Essential Position Responsibilities

1. Read and accurately interpret batching sheets and production documents to determine ingredient order and quantity. Ensure super-micros, pre-weighed by Quality Assurance, are added as required.
2. Stage ingredients and clean totes for batching.
3. Record production data accurately, including lot numbers, supplier info, batch date codes, and plan numbers.
4. Inspect each ingredient bag during dumping for condition, foreign material, lumps, color, odor, infestation, or expiry.
5. Perform batching by weighing ingredients into totes, labeling, and staging them.
6. Maintain a schedule to stay 15 batches ahead of production.
7. Clean the work area regularly, including the gravy room, filtration system, and dry ingredient area. Ensure totes are vacuumed or wiped, and ingredients are covered and properly stored.

Participate in team activities, contribute to communication and policy implementation, attend meetings, and support a cohesive work environment. Recognize and address areas lacking cohesiveness to foster synergy.

Operating Systems and Responsibilities

Familiar with Simmons' operating systems (quality, security, policies). Understand personal responsibility in maintaining these systems and communicate concerns or suggestions for improvement.

Regularly sit, stand, and walk. Physically move bags and totes weighing 40-60 pounds.

Technical and Industry Experience

Machine operation preferred. Experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
