Job summary

Pelletron Corporation in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Lab Technician to conduct hands-on laboratory and pilot-scale testing of bulk materials, prepare samples, operate equipment, and maintain test documentation.

You will follow procedures, perform tests for particle size, density, and other properties, record results, and assist with maintenance and safety, collaborating with engineers to optimize handling processes.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow established procedures and maintain accurate test records.
• Strong attention to detail and good manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Receive, label, stage, and prepare customer-supplied bulk material samples for testing.
• Set up, operate, monitor, and shut down laboratory and pilot-scale material-handling equipment.
• Perform tests for particle size, debris content, bulk density, angle of repose and other properties.
• Measure and record operating conditions and test results using logs, scales, gauges, sensors, and data-acquisition tools.
• Complete test records and routine reports documenting sample information, settings, observations and results.
• Inspect, clean and prepare equipment; perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Assemble and reconfigure piping, hoses, fittings, fixtures and equipment for tests using drawings.
• Identify abnormal conditions or data inconsistencies and escalate to the appropriate technical resource.
• Maintain lab supplies, tools, equipment records, housekeeping and waste-handling practices.
