Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English to interact with the public and coworkers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information clearly in one-on-one and small group settings to customers and coworkers.
• Follow written or oral instructions with common-sense understanding.
• Lifting requirements: up to 60 pounds occasionally, 25–45 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous service and assist customers in the Bulk Deli.
• Replenish, clean and rotate cheese and deli displays.
• Maintain department cleanliness throughout the shift.
• Work shifts in the Bulk Deli Cheese Clerk role, mornings and other assigned areas.
• Support safe food handling practices and follow food safety policies.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision, the Bulk Deli Cheese Clerk provides friendly, courteous and helpful service. This position assists customers, cleans, fills, and rotates the cheese and deli displays in the Bulk Deli.

The Bulk Deli Cheese Clerk position consists of two different shifts. The morning shift begins the day replenishing product, as instructed by the Bulk Deli Manager or Assistant Bulk Deli Manager, in a specifically assigned area. The Bulk Deli Cheese Clerk is responsible for assisting customers throughout the entire shift. The Bulk Deli Cheese Clerks will also maintain the cleanliness of the department throughout the shift.

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
