Job summary

Hach, a Veralto company, seeks a Chemical Technician II to handle and move large quantities of powdered chemicals for bulk reagent manufacturing. The role involves wet bench chemistry, testing, and adjusting formulas to meet specifications in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Chemical Synthesis & Bulk Manufacturing Manager, you will work on-site in Ames, IA, Monday–Friday, 6:00 am–2:00 pm, with emphasis on safety, quality, and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• 1 year of completed college chemistry with lab required.
• 1 year scientific production, process, or lab technician experience required or Bachelor of Science in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and test bulk chemical reagents and materials to meet specs.
• Operate and maintain production equipment safely, keeping clean lab areas.
• Record production and inventory data accurately (LOTS, Oracle, Kanban).
• Release conforming materials to downstream processes in a timely manner.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency.
