Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese is hiring a Bulk Cheese Handler in Ohio to prepare cheese according to customer specs and GMP/Safety policies. The role involves de-boxing, weighing, cutting, inspecting, and documenting production data on the line.

You will work across multiple Bulk lines, ensure product quality, and adhere to safety procedures. A high school diploma or GED and SAP familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read, prepare, and comprehend production reports and worksheets.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Ability to communicate with line personnel regarding information contained therein, and regarding quality and safety issues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain area, equipment, and personal sanitation.
• De-box/unwrap cheese from original packaging.
• Weigh cheese when applicable.
• Manual measurement and countdown of cheese for orders.
• Inspect/clean cheese.
• Maintain production records.
• Keep line stocked to avoid downtime.
• Operate cutters and lifting equipment.
• Load cheese into machines for processing.
• Pack and seal trim.
• Review order specs for quality checks.
• Communicate order specs and quality issues to line personnel.
• Enter data on production reports.
• Perform handheld data entry with scanner.
• Operate a pallet truck.
• Rotate to all Bulk lines as needed.
