Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese is hiring for a Bulk Cheese Handler to prepare product and cut cheese per customer specs while adhering to GMP and safety guidelines.

The role includes sanitation, packaging handling, data entry on production reports, and operating cutting equipment in a fast-paced facility. Candidates should be comfortable with basic math and reading production documents, and be able to rotate across lines as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment.
• Ability to make minor decisions based on standard practices.
• Ability to read, prepare, and comprehend production reports and worksheets.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Responsibilities

• Maintain area, equipment, and personal sanitation.
• De-box/unwrap cheese from original packaging.
• Weigh cheese when applicable.
• Manual measurement and countdown of cheese for orders.
• Inspect/clean cheese and maintain accurate production records.
• Keep line stocked with product to avoid downtime.
• Operate cutters and lifting equipment.
• Enter data on production reports.
• Rotate to all lines in Bulk positions.
• Follow safety policies and quality procedures.
