Great Lakes Cheese is seeking a Bulk Cheese Handler to prepare product and cuts per customer specs while complying with GMP and safety policies. The role requires lifting, operating cutters, loading cheese, and maintaining production records.

The position involves rotating through Bulk lines, working in a cool environment, and adhering to safety and quality standards to meet customer orders.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment.
• Ability to read, prepare, and comprehend production reports and worksheets.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Responsibilities

• Maintain area, equipment, and personal sanitation.
• De-box/unwrap cheese from original packaging.
• Weigh cheese when applicable.
• Manual measurement and countdown of cheese for customer specs.
• Inspect/clean cheese.
• Maintain accurate production records.
• Keep line stocked to avoid downtime.
• Operate cutters and lifting equipment.
• Load cheese into machines for processing.
• Pack and seal trim.
• Review order specs to perform quality checks.
• Direct/communicate to line personnel on order specs and quality issues.
• Enter data on production reports.
• Communicate safety issues to line personnel.
• Perform handheld scanner functions.
• Operate a pallet truck.
• Rotate to all lines in Bulk positions.
• Adhere to GMP and Safety policies and Safe Quality Food program.
