Job summary

The Town of Leesburg is seeking a seasoned Building Maintenance Supervisor to lead the Buildings Maintenance Division within the Department of Public Works. You will oversee construction, maintenance and repair of Town facilities, plan and assign work, and supervise staff and contracted services.

You will also support events and emergency operations as needed. Ideal candidates bring extensive building maintenance experience, strong leadership, and a commitment to safety and service excellence

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• Minimum of 10 years in building maintenance with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Buildings Maintenance Division within the Town’s Department of Public Works.
• Oversee construction, maintenance, and repair of Town buildings and facilities.
• Plan work, set priorities based on operational needs, safety, personnel and budget; supervise contracted services.
• Support special Town events and emergency operations, including snow and storm cleanup.

What You'll Be Doing

This position performs leadership, supervisory and administrative responsibilities within the Buildings Maintenance Division within the Town’s Department of Public Works. The position is responsible for the construction, maintenance and repair of buildings and facilities. Work includes planning, assigning, supervising and inspecting the work of Buildings Maintenance Division employees; responding to building maintenance requests; establishing work priorities based on operational needs, safety issues, personnel and budget; oversees the performance of contracted services. The position also provides support for special Town events and emergency operations, including snow and ice removal, storm cleanup and other activities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• HS/GED
• Minimum of years of ten (10) years of experience. in building maintenance with a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
• Certification in CPR/AED and First Aid or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC and Building Maintenance training; Computer skills exp. relating to building maintenance software and systems; Municipal or multiple building maintenance exp.; HVAC technician, electrical technician, building maintenance certifications
