Job summary

Siemens Reno, NV seeks a Buildings Energy Engineer to improve facility energy efficiency and reduce carbon footprint. You will perform energy audits, calculations, and support commissioning, while designing custom FIMs and presenting results to customers.

The role partners with sales and technology managers to grow Siemens' Energy Services in the local market; strong HVAC knowledge, data analysis, and English communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related field.
• Understanding of HVAC design fundamentals.
• Experience with data analysis tools to identify trends and patterns.
• Experience with controls fundamentals.
• 2+ years Mechanical HVAC systems or design experience.
• 2+ years energy efficiency engineering within buildings, preferred.
• Experience with existing building/HVAC systems commissioning, preferred.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Experience developing design concepts and schematics concerning FIMs.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-field audits of HVAC systems to gather information for energy efficiency improvements.
• Participate in pre-sale activities with Sales to identify and qualify opportunities.
• Lead client meetings and presentations.
• Perform energy and design calculations for proposed improvements.
• Apply building energy simulations to model energy, cooling, and heating loads.
• Analyze blueprints to identify mechanical/electrical/controls aspects.
• Coordinate with Siemens teams and outside vendors on FIM development.
• Assist and lead existing building commissioning projects.
• Understand standard commissioning procedures or techniques.
