Job summary

State of Wisconsin, Department of Corrections, Bureau of Correctional Enterprises, seeks a Buildings and Grounds Supervisor at Jackson Correctional Institution in Black River Falls, WI. This on-site role manages maintenance of facility systems and grounds, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:45am to 4:30pm.

Starting pay is $33.01 to $37.17 per hour, with pay set per the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code at hire.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining or repairing systems in building/institution complexes.
• Experience using CMMS to manage work orders and basic software like Microsoft Excel/Outlook.
• Willingness to work up to 16 hours per day and over 40 hours per week as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain or repair systems for building/institution complexes (heating, cooling, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
• Plan and direct maintenance and repair of service systems (telecommunications, network, security, water, etc.).
• Support and supervise Grounds and Facilities operations at Jackson Correctional Institution.

The Department of Corrections Bureau of Correctional Enterprises is currently recruiting to fill a Buildings and Grounds Supervisor position. This position is located at Jackson Correctional Institution in Black River Falls, WI.

This position is in pay schedule and range 81-04 with a starting pay of $33.01 to $37.17. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period of one year is required.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:

Maintaining or repairing systems commonly used in building/institution complexes. (i.e. heating, cooling & refrigeration systems, electric and mechanical equipment, food service equipment, grounds equipment, security systems, building structure components, plumbing, electrical, computerized and mechanical systems, and vehicles.)

Utilizingvarious computer operations and applications such as CMMS (Computerize Maintenance Management Systems) that manages workorders,online ordering, basic computer applications such as Microsoft, excel, outlook, etc.

In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have experience:

Planning and directing the maintenance and repair of service systems. (i.e. telephone, radio, computer local network, electric, security fences, cameras, natural gas, water distribution systems and storm, and sanitary sewer system.)

Must have the ability to work up to 16 hours per day and more than 40 hours per week on any shift based on daily operational needs.This may include weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.
