Job summary

Radford City Public Schools is seeking a Building Trades Teacher to lead hands-on instruction in carpentry, masonry, plumbing and electrical trades at the high school level. The ideal candidate will have OSHA certification preferred and DPOR journeyman or master license for electricity and plumbing, with 4000 hours or two years of industry experience within the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Provides vocational instruction to students.
• Assesses students' abilities and needs required to complete course of instruction.
• Delivers approved curriculum and provides appropriate instruction.
• Maintains discipline and safety in classroom, shop, and other applicable work areas.
• Supervises the use of all tools and equipment to ensure proper security, use, and storage.
• Maintains records of student attendance and progress
• Maintains teacher competency in the area of vocational trade.
• Performs other educational and related duties as required.
