Job summary

CBRE is seeking an Assistant Building Engineer to support Nvidia’s Santa Clara campus, maintaining HVAC, electrical, and life safety systems. The role emphasizes energy efficiency, preventive maintenance, and rapid response to repairs across a complex facility.

The candidate will work within the Engineering and Technical Services function, coordinating with teams to ensure code compliance and safe, reliable operations while following CBRE standards and RISE values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school diploma with 2–3 years of related experience.
• EPA Universal/608 Certification is required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet physical requirements.
• Experience with CMMS and standard problem-solving procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and related Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC/mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, control systems and other building systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs.
• Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
• Assign work orders and estimate the time and materials needed to complete repairs.
• Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently.
• Inspect new installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
• Lead by example and model behaviors aligned with CBRE RISE values.
• Ensure quality of work and meet deadlines within standardized procedures.
