Hernando County BOCC seeks a Maintenance Technician III to operate and maintain large county‑owned buildings. You will apply skills across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and building trades, with required certifications in building maintenance fields such as ASHRAE, CMRP, BOMI, IMI, NATE.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED; experience may substitute part of education.
• EPA approved HVAC refrigerant recovery certification Type I & II or obtain within 1 year.
• FEMA NIMS certifications (IS-100.c, IS-200.b, IS-700.b) within 3 months.
• Valid Florida driver’s license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and install electrical equipment, plumbing, HVAC and building systems.
• Perform safety inspections and ensure regulatory compliance for county facilities.
• Inspect wiring, control panels, and test equipment; read blueprints and schematics.
• Prepare and maintain records of equipment history and maintenance actions.
• Assist with construction and renovations of office spaces and rooms.
