Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory seeks a Supervisor to manage day-to-day operations at the Harbor Light facility, ensuring safety, efficiency, and smooth service delivery. You will supervise Support Specialists, monitor staff and clients, and maintain thorough shift documentation.

Primary duties include directing staff, addressing incidents, and communicating outcomes to the Site Operations Supervisor. A strong knowledge of Harbor Light policies and addiction-recovery context is required.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively in spoken and written form.
• TB test and police clearance required.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Take control of the facility by walking around observing people, property and events.
• Maintain accurate documentation regarding supervised staff.
• Monitor staff, clients, residents, church members and visitors.
• G ive supervision, training, direction and assistance to the Support Specialists.
• Assist staff in maintaining order and efficiency in the performance of their responsibilities.
• Investigate all serious occurrences/issues that take place during the shift.
• Communicate verbally and in writing to the Site Operations Supervisor all serious occurrences.
• Summarize and record the shift report in the daily log.

Overview

Summary: Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Harbor Light facility and support specialists ensuring the overall efficient, effective, and safe operation of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Take control of the facility by walking around observing people, property and events taking place
• Maintain accurate documentation regarding supervised staff
• Monitor staff, clients, residents, church members and visitors
• Give supervision, training, direction and assistance to the Support Specialists
• Assist staff in maintaining order and efficiency in the performance of their responsibilities
• Investigate all serious occurrences/issues that take place during the shift
• Communicate verbally and in writing, to the Site Operations Supervisor, all serious occurrences/issues that take place during the shift on the next business day
• Summarize and record the shift report in the daily log

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively through spoken and written word

Education/Experience

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years practical experience as a Supervisor
• Possess a working knowledge of addiction recovery

Computer Skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, email and internet
• Experience using electronic medical records system preferred

Reasoning Ability

• Understand and work within The Salvation Army and Harbor Light Mission Statements
• Possess an excellent working knowledge of The Harbor Light Policies and Procedures
