Job summary

Interdistrict School for Arts and Communication in New London is seeking a Building Substitute Teacher to support classroom instruction and student services. This role assists teachers, reinforces core subjects, and helps implement instructional programs while maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.

The position requires strong communication with students, families, and staff, experience with at-risk or diverse learners preferred, and adherence to safety and district policies.

Qualifications

• Communication skills necessary to interact with families, students, staff and visitors of ISAAC.
• Experience working with secondary students or students who are at-risk, educationally disadvantaged, and/or possess a variety of disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and guides students to reinforce Englishlanguage arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and other skills
• Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and implement assigned programs
• Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs
• Utilizesclassroom behavioral management systems to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and ensure students are on task
• Monitors students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student lunch programs andother related non-instructional areas
• Assists students in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion, learning, achievement ofIEP objectives, etc.
• Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students

BUILDING SUBSTITUTE TEACHER JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: School Principal

Job Summary:

This position reports directly to the School Principal. Performs general office/student support duties and any combination of the below listed essential duties and responsibilities in the classroom to assist teaching staff and Administration

Duties/Responsibilities:
