Job description

POSITION: Building Substitute- Middle School

Portland Public Schools' seeks innovative and passionate education substitutes to join our team at the Middle School to support the educational experience for our students and staff.

Eligible candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Current ESS/WillSub substitutes or willing to become a ESS/WillSub substitute
• Michigan Teacher Substitute Permit

The desired candidate would possess the following attributes:

• Knowledge of Portland Public Schools curriculum
• Willingness to commit each school day
• Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building a collegial relationships with students and colleagues
• Demonstrate knowledge of how to provide effective and engaging instruction in a variety of settings (whole group, small group, individual and collaborative)
• Demonstrate strong classroom management skills with the use of positive behavior interventions
• Demonstrate professional work habits and conduct consistent with the ethics of the profession.
