Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Building Structural Intern to join our Structural/Marine Group. You will work with a collaborative team on diverse projects including buildings, industrial facilities, water/wastewater plants, and waterfront facilities.

Interns receive training in structural analysis and design for various building types and materials and will learn to develop concept designs and create construction documents for clients across markets.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering bachelor or master program preferably with Structural Concentration.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with structural design and analysis software (RISA, STAAD) a plus.
• Experience with drafting and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD) a plus.

We are seeking a Building Structural Intern to join our Structural/Marine Group in our Fairfax, VA office.

Interns will join our collaborative team of engineers and architects on a variety of challenging projects, including buildings, industrial facilities, water/wastewater plants, and waterfront facilities. WRA has a strong mentoring culture and a focus on staff development.

Interns will receive training in structural analysis and design for a variety of building types and materials. Interns will also be trained in developing concept designs and creating construction documents for clients across a broad range of markets.

Requirements:

• Must be currently enrollment in an ABET accredited Civil Engineering bachelor or master program preferably with Structural Concentration.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with structural design and analysis software (RISA, STAAD, etc.) a plus.
• Experience with drafting and modeling software (Revit and AutoCAD) a plus.

The expected hourly compensation range for this position is $21.50 - $24.50. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
