Job summary

Tarrant County seeks a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to provide maintenance and operating services for county buildings, including preventive maintenance, repairs, event setup and emergency management system operation.

You will maintain HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, coordinate with vendors, supervise and train staff when needed, and support general building upkeep. Valid Texas driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of general maintenance and specialized experience in HVAC, plumbing or electrical.
• Supervisory and training experience preferred.
• Knowledge of A/C, plumbing, electrical and operation of chill water systems and boiler systems.
• Must have knowledge of building operating systems with expertise in one area.
• Valid and current TX driver's license required.

Physical Demands And Work Environment & Other Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to lift, carry, climb, stoop, walk, stand, sit, work indoors/outdoors with loud equipment, push, and pull. May be exposed to communicable diseases, various parasites, dangerous chemicals and electrical hazards. This position may require overtime, rotating shifts nights, evenings, weekends and holiday work. Candidates must have the ability to pass a criminal background investigation prior to employment.
