Milwaukee Area Technical College seeks a skilled maintenance worker in Milwaukee, WI, to perform a variety of repair activities, operate equipment, and maintain buildings and grounds with independence.
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. and have at least three years of relevant experience. This position offers a full-time schedule, varying between shifts, and includes multiple vacancies across campuses.
Under general supervision, performs a variety of skilled and semi‑skilled repair activities, operates small and heavy equipment, and maintains buildings and grounds. Work is performed with considerable independent judgment. Supervision received is general in nature using established procedures and general objectives. Works closely with other professionals in a team approach.
Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or G.E.D. and three (3) years of experience in building maintenance and repairs.
Required License/Certification: Valid Wisconsin driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Hours: The position is a 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week), scheduled Monday‑Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM with rotating weekends as needed.
We are hiring for multiple vacancies at our Downtown Milwaukee, Oak Creek, and Mequon campuses. Available shifts vary between 1st and 2nd shift, depending on campus needs.
Compensation: Salary pay rates are listed up to the midpoint of the range and placement is determined based on years of experience, internal salary equity, and a review of the applicant’s employment and educational background as listed on the job application.
