Job summary

Spring Grove Hospital Center in Catonsville, MD, seeks an experienced housekeeping supervisor to lead staff across a large state facility on a 189-acre campus. The role requires valid MD driver's license and ability to drive a state vehicle.

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to supervise staff engaged in housekeeping activities at alarge state facility set on an 189-acre campus. The activities are specific to all common areas, and will maintain cleaning supplies to handle the needs of the workers in assignedareas. This position receives general supervision from a higher-level housekeeping supervisor. Thisis an 'EMERGENCE ESSENTIAL' position that is required to have and maintain a valid Maryland driver'slicense and be able to drive a state vehicle in accordance to state of Maryland policies andprocedures for the drivers of state vehicles.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education:�� Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• Experience: Eight years of experience in a large scale housekeeping operation at a school, hospital or other institution; four years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
• Notes:
  1. Candidates may substitute additional supervisory level experience on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
  2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a non-commissioned officer in Equipment, Facilities, and Services classifications or Equipment, Facilities, and Services specialty codes in the Equipment, Facilities, and Services Group field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education, four years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:

• Experience with cleaning commercial establishments.
• Experience with Microsoft Word.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification may be required to work on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays. Employees required to work on those days will receive compensatory time off.
