Job summary

The City of Dickinson's Public Works Department is seeking a Building Service Worker to keep our facilities clean, safe, and fully operational. This hands-on role supports daily city operations and helps maintain welcoming public spaces.

Work hours are Monday through Friday with a pay range of $20.03 to $22.12 per hour (DOE). The job offers benefits, including health insurance, retirement options, paid leave, and opportunities for training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Up to one year of janitorial/maintenance experience, or equivalent education.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of Public Works buildings, shops, and facilities.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, buff floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Empty trash, recycling, and shop waste containers.
• Clean windows, blinds, walls, and equipment surfaces.
• Restock restroom and facility supplies.
• Assist with setup for trainings, meetings, and department events.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs.
• Remove snow and debris from entrances, sidewalks, and facility access points.
• Lock/unlock facilities and help ensure building security.
• Respond to facility-related needs and emergencies as required.

What You'll Need:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: Up to one year of experience in janitorial, maintenance, or similar type of work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

License: Valid Driver's License
