Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including fixtures and mirrors
• Sweep and mop floors; maintain clean flooring across facilities
• Dust mop, vacuum, and mop tile floors; tidy carpeted areas
• Wax floors annually as part of facility maintenance
• Clean kitchen tables and countertops
• Dust furniture and fixtures
• Clean windows, doors, and high touch surfaces
• Spot-clean walls to maintain attractive facilities
• Empty and clean trash cans; manage waste
• Operate vacuum cleaners, buffers, and other cleaning equipment
• Follow safety policies and use cleaning chemicals properly
• Prioritize tasks and follow instructions
• Work respectfully with coworkers and the public
• Perform related duties as assigned

This position participates in the custodial maintenance of Town buildings. Successful performance contributes to clean, attractive, and welcoming facilities for Town employees, citizens, and visitors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including fixtures and mirrors, and replenish soap and paper products
• Sweep and mop floors and help maintain clean, well-kept flooring throughout Town facilities
• Dust mop, vacuum, and mop tile floors and sweep carpeted areas using a push sweeper
• Wax floors annually as part of ongoing facility maintenance
• Clean kitchen tables and countertops
• Dust furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces
• Clean glass windows and doors
• Clean frequently touched areas such as door handles and hand railings
• Spot-clean walls to help maintain attractive facilities
• Empty and clean trash cans
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners and buffers
• Safely use a variety of hand tools and cleaning chemicals
• Follow Town safety policies, procedures, and applicable material safety information
• Prioritize assigned work and follow instructions
• Work respectfully around coworkers, other Town employees, and members of the public
• Perform related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of Town safety policies and procedures
• Knowledge of the proper use of various cleaning chemicals
• Skill in operating cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners and buffers
