The City of Roseville is seeking a Building Plans Examiner to join the Development Services team. The role involves reviewing construction documents for code compliance and working with architects, engineers, and city staff to resolve design issues and guide projects through permitting.

The position emphasizes collaboration, problem solving, and delivering excellent customer service while maintaining life-safety standards. Hybrid work options are available where eligible.

Qualifications

• Experience reviewing residential and commercial construction documents for code compliance.
• Ability to communicate code requirements clearly to applicants and staff.
• Experience collaborating with architects, engineers and inspectors to resolve design/code issues.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, developers, property owners and City staff to resolve code and design issues and identify code-compliant solutions.
• Provide responsive customer service by clearly communicating code requirements and helping applicants navigate the path to code compliance.
• Review construction documents for compliance with building codes and City requirements.
