Aoka is seeking a Certified Building Official (CBO) in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area to lead a team of building inspectors, supervise inspection programs, and serve as a subject matter expert for the sales team. This role focuses on enforcing municipal, state, and federal codes to ensure safety and quality in construction projects.

• ICC Certified Building Official (CBO) required.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in building inspection.
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise building inspectors and manage inspection programs.
• Serve as a subject matter expert supporting the sales team.
• Conduct client visits for complex or escalated projects.
• Administer and enforce municipal, state, and federal building codes, safety, energy, and accessibility standards.
• Oversee issuance of building permits, plan approvals, occupancy certificates, and inspection reports.
• Interpret complex codes and provide guidance to architects, engineers, contractors, and property owners.
• Collaborate with fire, planning, zoning, engineering, and public works departments for coordinated code enforcement.
• Manage appeals, code updates, and ordinance revisions.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on inspections, permitting, and code compliance.
