Overview

Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Building Monitor at its Detroit campus location.

Responsibilities
  • Provide an added security presence in an assigned campus area by monitoring people entering WSU buildings during normal business hours.
  • Remain in uniform identifying them as part of the Wayne State Police department (non-sworn).
  • Assist in maintaining the normal flow of business by directing and assisting students, staff, and visitors; help keep disruptive persons and non-WSU personnel away from buildings.
  • Use a police radio to request assistance as needed for escorting disruptive individuals.
  • Positioned just inside building entrances at a station with a telephone and may have information about staff and offices in the building.
