In the role of Building Mechanical Engineer, you'll count on you to:
  1. Coordinate the work of the mechanical design team through schematic design development and contract document phase of a project.
  2. Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
  3. Coordinate workload to complete the document on schedule.
  4. Conduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
  5. Review mechanical documents for conflicts with all disciplines.
  6. Write and edit mechanical specifications, select equipment, mechanical systems, and devices.
  7. Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs, change orders, and incorporate changes into documents.
  8. Provide construction contract administration as needed.
  9. Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Mechanical Project Engineers, Coordinators, or CAD Technicians as needed.
  10. Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis.
  • Healthcare and Hospital design experience.
  • Understanding of OSHPD/HCAI requirements.
  • Sciences, Laboratory, and Cleanroom experience.
  • Interest in sustainable design/LEED (desired but not required).
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings.
  • Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • Experience with commercial or institutional facilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, manufacturer selection software.
  • Experience with an architectural/engineering or consulting firm.
  • Active participation in our employee-owned culture is essential.

Compensation varies based on skills, experience, education, and location. The salary range for Irvine, CA & Los Angeles, CA is $92,082 - $131,560.
