Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of sales experience with a building materials company or in building materials services — REQUIRED.
• Strong customer service and communication skills across in-person, phone, and email.
• Ability to work efficiently and remain professional while handling multiple customers and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter who takes initiative and is willing to learn.
• Comfortable using available tools and technology, including AI, to improve learning and job performance.
• Must follow company procedures and safety standards.
• Spanish speakers preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and professionally at the counter, by phone, and by email.
• Answer product, pricing, availability, and order questions accurately — asking when unsure rather than guessing.
• Process sales transactions, customer pickups, returns, and exchanges efficiently and accurately.
• Direct customer flow at the counter and coordinate clearly with yard staff on pickups and order needs.
• Communicate customer needs, product issues, and service concerns to sales staff and management.
• Keep the counter, work area, and surrounding sales floor clean, organized, and customer-ready throughout the day.
• Take initiative to learn products, processes, and systems, using available tools and resources — including AI — where appropriate.
• Follow company procedures for service, attendance, cleanliness, accuracy, and professionalism.
