Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of sales experience with a building materials company or in building materials services — REQUIRED.
• Strong customer service and communication skills across in-person, phone, and email.
• Ability to work efficiently and remain professional while handling multiple customers and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter who takes initiative and is willing to learn.
• Comfortable using available tools and technology, including AI, to improve learning and job performance.
• Must follow company procedures and safety standards.
• Spanish speakers preferred, not required.

The Sales Counter Representative delivers excellent customer service at the front counter while supporting smooth daily store operations. This role assists customers in person, by phone, and by email; answers product, pricing, and availability questions; processes transactions accurately; and works closely with sales, yard staff, and management to keep service efficient, organized, and professional. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes initiative and continuously uses available tools and resources — including technology and AI — to improve performance and problem-solving.

This position requires prior building materials sales experience (see Qualifications).

Physical Demands / Work Environment

• Regular standing, walking, and movement throughout the day.
• Indoor retail/store environment with frequent interaction with customers, sales staff, and yard staff.

Compensation

Job Types: Full-time, Commission, Permanent
