Job summary

SRS Distribution, Inc. in Boston is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to manage all purchasing activities for assigned vendors, place purchase orders, monitor inventory, and negotiate pricing. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of related experience and strong Excel/ERP skills to support supplier relationships and cost management.

Qualifications

• Strong Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing and receiving product from vendors.
• Negotiating pricing, terms, and program details with vendors.
• Billing invoices to customers and managing sales reports.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and control shrinkage.
• Enter orders and maintain pricing and inventory records in the company system.
• Develop understanding of market conditions impacting the building materials industry.
• Develop vendor relationships and provide backup to front counter sales when needed.
• Monitor price changes and respond appropriately.
