Job summary

Higginbotham Brothers (HBC), a Division of US LBM Holdings, LLC, is seeking a Counter Sales Representative in Crockett, TX to assist customers and contractors with sales, order placement, and payment processing. The role involves showroom maintenance, inventory control, and occasional yard/warehouse duties.

You will greet customers, help with product selection, handle invoices and pricing data, and participate in training for full product knowledge while meeting safety and service standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of building material knowledge and sales experience preferred.
• Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Maintenance of professional demeanor; detail oriented and observant.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Must possess good mathematic skills; able to use a calculator and computers.
• Knowledge of building materials, applications, related equipment, and/or construction industry.
• Good interpersonal and customer relations skills; ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Familiar with computer, printer, telephone, copy machine, engineer's scale/ruler, mechanical tools, inventory and inventory control.
• Must be able to drive and walk throughout yards, plants and offices; Microsoft Office proficiency; Trend system familiarity.
• Ability to work Saturdays and evenings as required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact positively with customers; respond to questions regarding merchandise, location, pricing, promotions, product selection, order placement, quotations, complaints, and scheduling deliveries and installations; provide follow-up.
• Facilitate product selection for showroom customers with accurate record-keeping of selections.
• Process customer sales through the cash register and accept payments; maintain cash levels and record totals.
• Create invoices, work orders and sales tickets; code and enter orders and pricing; issue refunds or credits with manager approval when necessary.
• Purchase special-order products and obtain pricing, specs, uses and availability.
• Maintain showroom appearance and stock levels; assist with inventory.
• May assist with yard and warehouse operations and safely operate forklifts or company vehicles after training.
• Attend trainings and perform location-specific services such as cutting keys, mixing paint, and cutting glass.
