Job summary

Womankind (formerly NYAWC) is seeking a reliable Building Maintenance Worker to keep our property safe, clean, and functional. The role covers routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive upkeep of commercial or residential facilities.

The ideal candidate has experience in general maintenance, basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry, and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work physically demanding tasks. High school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance or handyman work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
• Knowledge of plumbing/electrical/HVAC/carpentry would help.
• Awareness of safety regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry issues.
• Inspect buildings and report maintenance needs.
• Repair doors, windows, locks, walls, flooring, and fixtures.
• Maintain clean and safe indoor and outdoor areas.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests.
