Job summary

Credit Union of America is seeking a Maintenance Technician to provide professional maintenance services for all branch locations and corporate offices, covering electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, landscaping, and HVAC. Duties include responding to emergencies, maintaining interiors and exteriors, and supporting moves and setups.

Candidates should have 1–3 years of related experience and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of similar or related maintenance experience.
• Two-year college degree or specialized certification/licensing preferred.
• Experience with carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, and security systems desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance for all branch locations and corporate offices: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, landscaping, heating and cooling.
• Perform minor electrical work: fixtures, outlets, bulbs, ballasts, cords, fuses.
• Do minor plumbing repairs like drains and faucets.
• Do minor painting, carpentry and masonry tasks; surface prep and finishes.
• Maintain building exteriors including landscaping and snow removal.
• Maintain interiors and respond to emergency maintenance requests.
• Assist with security: change safe combinations, locks, and batteries as needed.
• Assist with moves and setup for trainings; transport equipment as assigned.
• Follow BSA/AML compliance requirements as applicable.

Job description

Role:

Provide professional, comprehensive maintenance services for all CUA branch locations and the corporate offices including: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, landscaping, general maintenance heating, and air conditioning.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• 15% Perform minor electrical maintenance to include, but not be limited to, repair or replacement of fixtures (wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballasts, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.


• 15% Perform minor plumbing maintenance to include, but not be limited to, repair or replacement of drains and faucets.


• 15% Perform minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work (preparing surfaces, using brush, sprayer, roller to apply paint, stains, varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks, handles, etc.)


• 20% Ensure building exteriors are well maintained including landscaping beds, clearing debris and snow removal.


• 20% Ensure building interiors are well maintained and respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.


• 5% Assist with security by routinely changing safe combinations, locks, and batteries in devices as needed, and/or requested.


• 5% Assist with departmental and employee moves, set up tables and chairs for trainings or meetings, transport goods and equipment as assigned.


• 5% Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Employees shall be trained annually, demonstrate an understanding of and follow the requirements of the BSA/AML Compliance Program as it specifically relates to their job.

Knowledge And Skills

• Experience One year to three years of similar or related experience.


• Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.


• Interpersonal Skills Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.


• Other Skills Experience with carpentry, heating & air conditioning, electrical systems, plumbing, drywall & painting and security systems.

Work Environment

Primarily a position working indoors; may be exposed to indoor temperature adjustments; heating and cooling vents distribute regulated air. Frequently will work outdoors or in non-climate controlled areas.
