Our client, a leading facilities management organization, is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to join their team. As a Building Maintenance Technician, you will be part of the operations support team supporting facility upkeep and tenant satisfaction. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proactive problem-solving, strong technical skills, and excellent communication, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician
Location: New York, NY
Pay Range: $22-24/hr
Shift: M-F (8am-5pm) or (10am-7pm)/ will need to do OT when needed
What's the Job?
Conduct comprehensive daily building inspections of all floors, common areas, restrooms, pantries, exit routes, stairwells, and critical systems rooms to identify and address maintenance needs proactively
Manage work orders in Nuvolo from start to finish—prioritizing assignments, performing repairs, documenting progress with detailed notes and photos, and ensuring timely closure of all tickets
Monitor and maintain HVAC systems by checking temperatures across all floors, troubleshooting thermostats, replacing batteries, reviewing the Building Management System for alarms and faults, and responding to comfort complaints
Perform plumbing maintenance including repairing leaks and faucets, maintaining flush valves and sensors, replacing batteries in fixtures, servicing ejector pumps, unclogging drains, and adjusting restroom partitions
Execute general maintenance and repair tasks such as touch-up painting, ceiling tile replacement, carpet repairs, window shade installation, door hardware adjustments, key cutting, and storage locker maintenance
What's Needed?
High school diploma or equivalent certification
1-3 years of hands-on building maintenance or facilities operations experience
Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical work, and general building maintenance practices with ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs independently
Strong technical aptitude with hand and power tools, building automation systems, and basic diagnostic equipment
Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks, respond to urgent requests, and manage a structured daily routine
