Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician

Department: 1016 - Maintenance

Location: High Bridge, NJ



Summary

The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general construction and maintenance tasks, including drywall installation, sheetrock repairs, painting, carpentry, and general building upkeep. This role also involves minor facility improvements, assisting with event setups, and ensuring the overall condition of company buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general construction and building maintenance tasks, including drywall installation, sheetrock repair, and painting.

  • Assist with carpentry work such as framing, door installation, trim work, and minor renovations.

  • Conduct routine repairs and maintenance, including patching walls, replacing ceiling tiles, and repairing flooring.

  • Support facility improvement projects, including minor electrical and plumbing repairs.

  • Ensure work areas are kept clean and organized while following proper safety procedures.

  • Assist with moving and assembling furniture, as well as setting up/breaking down for company events.

  • Perform inspections and address any facility issues to maintain a safe and functional environment.

  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Work with hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks.

  • Participate in necessary training required for the position.

  • Available to work flexible hours based on workload and company needs.

  • Support other maintenance team members as needed.


Qualifications

  • Experience with general construction, drywall, sheetrock, painting, and basic carpentry.

  • Knowledge of hand and power tools, as well as proper safety procedures.

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently complete assigned tasks.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects when necessary.

  • Open to feedback and collaboration.

  • Ability to adapt to changes in work priorities and handle multiple tasks effectively.


Education and/or Experience

  • Heavy equipment operation experience preferred

  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • 2+ years of experience in construction, carpentry, drywall, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience with basic electrical and plumbing repairs is a plus.

  • Valid Driver's License
