Building Maintenance Supervisor (Project Management)
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Director of Public Works, this management position is responsible for City buildings and facilities maintenance operations; performs related work as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Administers, inspects, maintains contact with, and oversees service contracts, construction projects, facilities, properties, and equipment.
- Manages assigned City Building and Facilities Maintenance operations.
- Assigns and oversees work of Building Maintenance Tech staff.
- Develops written cost estimates, prepares specifications, and administers contracts related to building and facilities maintenance.
- Chairs, serves on, and/or represents the City on various department, city, and public committees as authorized.
- Communicates with appropriate agencies as needed.
- Evaluates division operations and recommends necessary changes to the Director of Public Works.
- Assists in the development, maintenance, and implementation of long-range plans, annual objectives, and department budget.
- Addresses public issues, complaints, and requests.
- Prepares reports, documentation, and presentations as required.
- Receives complaints and attends to their disposition or forwards to the Public Works Director.
- Carries out special projects on behalf of the Director of Public Works.
