Building Maintenance Supervisor (Project Management)

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Director of Public Works, this management position is responsible for City buildings and facilities maintenance operations; performs related work as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Administers, inspects, maintains contact with, and oversees service contracts, construction projects, facilities, properties, and equipment.
  2. Manages assigned City Building and Facilities Maintenance operations.
  3. Assigns and oversees work of Building Maintenance Tech staff.
  4. Develops written cost estimates, prepares specifications, and administers contracts related to building and facilities maintenance.
  5. Chairs, serves on, and/or represents the City on various department, city, and public committees as authorized.
  6. Communicates with appropriate agencies as needed.
  7. Evaluates division operations and recommends necessary changes to the Director of Public Works.
  8. Assists in the development, maintenance, and implementation of long-range plans, annual objectives, and department budget.
  9. Addresses public issues, complaints, and requests.
  10. Prepares reports, documentation, and presentations as required.
  11. Receives complaints and attends to their disposition or forwards to the Public Works Director.
  12. Carries out special projects on behalf of the Director of Public Works.
