MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) seeks a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to support the headquarters complexes. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, inspection, repair of building equipment, and coordination with contractors to keep boilers, chillers, pumps and electrical systems operating reliably.

Must also be knowledgeable of carpentry, masonry, and HVAC chillers (minimum 100 tons). Must be able to read architectural engineering drawings and blueprints. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications are required. Knowledge of contracts and administration is desirable. In lieu of formal training or degree; directly related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

The selection process may include one or more components to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments.
Assists in the monitoring of preventive maintenance work, the inspection and repair of building equipment and apparatus, and the inspection of service/repair/renovation/construction contracts and agreements. Coordinates building, equipment and infrastructure maintenance and repairs to maintain the integrity of all related systems and structural components of the MARTA Headquarters/Annex/IOC Complexes. Installs and maintains interior signage, doors and associated parts, lighting, plumbing and other internal facility systems. Provides inspection of contractors' work to ensure compliance to contract documents and service agreements. Monitors operation of the building systems and equipment and provides reports of system efficiency.
Must possess a valid Georgia Driver's License.

Walks in and around MARTA buildings and on properties. Performs duties outside in all weather conditions. May require service coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; at night or on weekends. This position may have exposure to potentially hazardous locations/conditions requiring knowledge of "Confined Space" guidelines. Accesses elevated locations such as scaffolds, roofs or catwalks. Works in vicinity of high voltage.
