Fulton County is seeking a maintenance technician in the Real Estate and Asset Management Department to perform building maintenance across multiple locations. A high school diploma or GED plus HVAC, plumbing, or electrical training is required, with at least three years of related experience and a valid Georgia driver's license.
Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairs of HVAC and plumbing, tile and painting work, and monitoring system controls.
High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by vocational or technical training in custodial or building maintenance, HVAC, plumbing or electrical, or a related field; Supplemented by three years of experience in HVAC, plumbing or electrical, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License.
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

The purpose of this classification is to perform operational building maintenance activities in multiple locations around Fulton County in a variety of disciplines.
Performs preventive maintenance and repair work on buildings and systems, repairs heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and plumbing fixtures; replaces floor and ceiling tiles, defective parts, fluorescent bulbs, and filters; collects lint from dryers; paints walls, doors, and ceilings; and performs other minor repairs. Identifies and requests supplies needed for tasks, such as air filters, controls, and gas valves. Inspects buildings to ensure that they are clean and debris-free, and maintenance repairs are completed. Monitors temperature of chilled water and computerized controls to ensure a comfortable work environment and makes adjustments as needed. Makes recommendations regarding equipment replacement.
Assists other technicians or contractors that may be needed to perform more experienced and/or specific tasks. Performs other related duties as required.
