Job summary

A+ FCU is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support our members by maintaining and repairing the Credit Union's facilities and providing dependable service.

You will perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and general upkeep, schedule repairs, and ensure safety building operations, with regular offsite ATM upkeep and janitorial support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of general janitorial and/or maintenance experience required.
• Valid driver's license and insurability.
• Ability to communicate repair needs to vendors and employees.
• Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools needed for maintenance of public buildings.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions; follow safety practices.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Able to establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers and members.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on interior/exterior of facilities within scheduled hours.
• Follow A+FCU’s Personal and Property Security Program when entering or leaving facilities.
• Identify and report major repair needs to supervisor.
• Carpentry repairs such as doors, ceilings, painting, and fixtures.
• Electrical repairs and testing of exterior lights.
• Plumbing repairs including leaks and fixtures.
• Purchase supplies and materials for projects.
• Assemble and move furniture and fixtures.
• Repair door knobs/locks and patches holes in walls.
• Paint interior and exterior walls.
• Report or order repairs for irrigation systems.
• Assist with carpet cleaning and waxing floors.
• Monthly elevator testing.
• Visit offsite ATMs for upkeep and report to supervisor.
• Assist with janitorial services and vehicle maintenance.
• Set up system furniture and clean exterior fixtures.
• Other duties as assigned.

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Credit Union in achieving its mission of becoming the members’ financial partner and helping to fulfill their life-long dreams. Your role to achieve this mission will be to provide outstanding service to internal members and to provide maintenance services to Credit Union facilities. Support a sales and service culture.

Essential Functions

• Perform maintenance needs of all assigned Credit Union facilities including the interior and exterior of building within scheduled hours.
• Follow A+FCU’s Personal and Property Security Program when entering or leaving facilities.
• Continually observe facilities to identify and report to supervisor major repair needs such as roof leaks, door and window problems, carpet, lawn, parking lot, and HVAC needs.
• Perform carpentry repairs such as door adjustments, ceiling tile repairs, painting, and furniture and fixture repairs as assigned.
• Perform electrical repairs such as changing ballasts, changing bulbs, and testing outside lights monthly for building security.
• Performs routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, and water fountains.
• Purchases supplies, equipment, and materials necessary to complete projects.
• Assembles and moves furniture, hang pictures and bulletin boards, makes name plates, moves and sets up tables and chairs.
• Repairs and replaces door knobs or locks, repairs door closures, patches holes in walls.
• Paints interior and exterior walls.
• Report/order repair for leaking irrigation systems.
• Assist with carpet cleaning and stripping/waxing of tile floors.
• Perform monthly elevator testing.
• Monthly visit offsite ATM’s for any needed upkeep or repairs and report them to supervisor.
• Assist Maintenance Representatives with janitorial services as assigned/needed.
• Schedule or perform vehicle maintenance/service as needed
• Assemble, disassemble, or move system furniture as required.
• Perform exterior window cleaning, exterior light fixture cleaning, and exterior sign cleaning
• Perform other or miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Minimum of two years of general janitorial and/or maintenance experience required

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
